Premiere Telluride Ski-in/Ski-Out Resort Offers Valentine’s Day Special

Telluride, Colo. – Picture a snow-covered ski lodge, upscale resort, warm fireplace, luxurious robes, outdoor hot tubs with spectacular mountain views and western elegance, and you’ll be picturing a perfect Valentine’s Day in Telluride.

This year, Mountain Lodge at Telluride, the area’s premiere ski-in/ski-out resort, is offering a fourth-night-free special for Valentine’s Day. Visitors who stay four nights in one of the resort’s 650-square-foot junior suites between Feb. 8 and 16 will receive the fourth night free. Guests also will receive a bottle of champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries on their first night to celebrate the holiday.

Junior suites include living area, separate master bedroom and deluxe kitchen. Property amenities include concierge services, a fitness room, steam room, grocery shopping service, outdoor heated  pool and hot tubs, and complimentary wireless Internet service in all units and in the main lodge.

Rates during the special are $289/night. In addition, discounted lift tickets for Telluride Ski Resort are available to guests who request them from Mountain Lodge at least 72 hours in advance.

While the Feb. 8-16 timeframe is one of the busiest times of the season to ski and snowboard at Telluride, guests can choose from plenty of activities as well, says Neil Hastings, director of sales and marketing for Mountain Lodge at Telluride. Visitors can snowshoe, cross-country ski, snowmobile, take a dogsled ride, horseback ride, shop and take in one of the area’s world-class spas.

Mountain Lodge at Telluride is an exclusive, slopeside, upscale resort featuring a blend of rustic elegance and western charm. Skiers will love the ski-in, ski-out option, and everyone will love the private luxury cabins, condominiums, and lodge rooms, many of which have private balconies or patios. The condo and cabin units have kitchen facilities, or opt for on site View Restaurant and Bar provides upscale tavern dining in a intimate setting. Complimentary wi-fi is available.

Romance in the Rockies Package

Whether for a birthday, anniversary, holiday or other special occasion, a stay at the exclusive Mountain Lodge at Telluride fits the bill for a romantic escape. “Romance in the Rockies” includes lodging, a bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries upon arrival, along with either a couple’s massage or private individual 60-minute massage.

Two- and three-night packages are available, with two-night package rates starting at $125 per person per night, based on double occupancy, in a junior suite. The junior suite has a king bed, separate living room with stone gas fireplace, jetted tub, deluxe kitchenette, and patio or balcony. The special is available through April 3rd, 2011, with some holiday blackout dates.

Advance-Purchase Special
Guests who make reservations by November 15th can save 20 percent if you book at least 21-days in advance of arrival. Can’t plan that far out? You can still save 15 percent if you book at least 14-days in advance. The special is good for stays through April 23rd, 2011, and is based on availability. Some unit types carry blackout dates during the holiday season and Presidents’ Day weekend.

Depending on dates selected, the rate for a luxury junior suite will be just $120.80- 223.20 (with 20 percent discount) or $128.35- 237.15 (with 15 percent discount). Advance-Purchase Special rates also are available on Mountain Lodge’s one- and two- bedroom condos and suites, and cabins that feature up to six bedrooms.

'Soar in Style', special Mountain Lodge Telluride Ski Package Featured on Bing

In the travel slide show detailing 19 of the most select vacations around the world, Mountain Lodge at Telluride’s “Soar in Style” package is among only a few North American destinations. Other vacations selected include stays at an India palace, an upscale Dubai hotel, Trump Tower Chicago, and a luxury apartment hotel in the French Alps. Also on the list are world cruises – and a trip to the moon on a Soyuz spacecraft.

The Soar in Style package, offered throughout the winter ski season, starts with private round-trip jet air service from the guest’s home airport of choice to Telluride Airport, chauffeured limousine transport to and from the airports, and a personal on-call concierge during the visit.

Activities include helicopter skiing the back country of the San Juan Mountains, a guided snowmobile tour to Dunton Hot Springs for a soak, a spa treatment and lunch, dog sledding, and skiing Telluride Mountain with a private guide. Guests also receive a complete equipment makeover, with skis and customized boots (or snowboard) as a souvenir.

Soar in Style guests receive Dom Pérignon upon arrival, dinner prepared by a personal chef in the cabin each evening, and on the last night, a gourmet dinner and wine for two at Allred’s, Telluride’s signature restaurant.

The price for the package starts at $14,017 per person, double occupancy, for four nights in a log-and-stone cabin with slope-side ski access.

“The ‘Soar in Style’ package is perfect for a few select guests,” says Neil Hastings, director of sales and marketing for the resort. “With the variety of accommodations at Mountain Lodge at Telluride, we also provide the best value in Telluride for travelers more conscious of budget.” For example, the resort is offering a fifth night free on any paid stay of four nights through April 4, the end of ski season in Telluride. Post-ski season, the resort offers a wide variety of price levels.
